There is a great change taking place in the world of
missions today. In many places western missionaries
are unable to preach the gospel and in others using
western missionaries in front-line evangelism is not
the best option.
The emergence today of outstanding national leadership
-- especially in terms of front-line evangelism and
the development of ministries that indigenize the gospel
-- is one of the exciting moves of the Spirit of God
in the developing world. A priority for Churches and
Christians in the developed world in the 21st century
is linking with these nationals.
The body of Jesus Christ needs to be enjoying fellowship
together, helping each other in partnership, and sharing
gifts and resources so that the whole body is enriched.
In this way Churches and Christians in the developed
world participate in the wonderful things God is doing
on the front line as Jesus Christ builds His Church.
This is the most cost effective aspect of mission today.
HIALEM International Ministries Is:
- Indigenous or "home grown." That is the
vision, faith and essential expertise come from
the nationals themselves.
- HIALEM'S central aim is winning people to
Christ.
- HIALEM International Ministry networks with the
local churches to help disciple who who come to Christ.
- HIALEM has sound stewardship. The local members
of HIALEM also support the ministry with their own
personal funds, because they believe in winning
souls to Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. So, donors
can be assured that their gifts are properly applied.
Statements will also be available on line.
Relationship building is the key. This is not all that
easy but we are seeing it happen. Western Churches and
Christians who link with a national, build such a relationship
through regular correspondence, exchange of photographs,
visits and ministry in the local church. It also involves
western Christians and church leaders joining with nationals
in ministry in the Third World..
